Izengard was conceived over a number of years by Industry experts in the Financial Services with experience in North America, Europe and APAC.
Whilst modern Big Data, Blockchain, GenAI and other AI tools are initially deployed in Financial Services, the implementation of these is often ineffective due to the continued siloed nature of back office Non-Financial Risk operations and empire building. It is strange that in manufacturing and production industries, these processes, models, controls have been streamlined, but over a 30 year period this change has not come to the back office of Financial Services participants.
Despite regulatory fines, shareholder pressure and calling in Global Consulting firms to transform back office Compliance, Financial Crime and Cyber-Security, somehow the empire building and siloed mindset and procuring software on a siloed basis has persisted. This is truly not in the best interests of the financial institutions as it is inefficient and costly, yet even Senior Leadership has failed to mandate the change.
Startups in FinTech, Payments Firms and Digital Banking have the option of re-inventing the back office and have been looking for a service provider to help them with this complicated and expensive area where domain experts are needed. However, evidence has shown whilst there is a lot of great change in front office in these organizations, they have copied the approach used by the rest of the Financial Services industry for the back office. This distraction, is not helping them grow and challenge the very players in the industry they want to disrupt.

Our team formed Izengard in 2024, with a holistic, enterprise view of Non-Financial Risk issues in mind and we embarked upon this ambitious venture by collecting and utilizing our talents, with a cost-effective, high performance alternative to the siloed back office.
